Kickstarter project update! 21 days left for I Wanna Work For You

We will have some videos of our last show posted soon. In the meantime, I also wanted to share some great press. I'm amazed at the depth of the interview with Chip Boaz of Latin Jazz Corner. It turned into a 3-part, photo-filled opus that has been picked up by NPR Music, All About Jazz and many others.

If you're wondering how French school started me down this multilingual, musical life path, how I met Bobby McFerrin in 6th grade or why I used to do pushups in the studio while recording with Wayne Wallace, the truth is finally here!

Chip writes: "Her new album’s title track, 'I Wanna Work For You,' taps into the social consciousness of the downtrodden economy... Morales has moved into musical maturity with an awareness of the world around her... Her smart writing and insightful message, along with Sam Bevan’s arranging style, promises to make I Wanna Work For You another strong artistic statement."

I also have to thank Donna Mercer, profiled by NPR as one of the most prolific jazz bloggers/tweeters ever (http://www.npr.org/blogs/ablogsupreme/2010/04/the_woman_behind_elements_of_jazz.html). Not only did she blog about I Wanna Work For You, she's been mentioning it steadily since that day, reaching out to her 13,223 followers on Twitter with messages about my Kickstarter project.

I understand that Donna may be on the prowl for a new employment situation, so if you know someone who's looking for the kind of person who could independently create the media following she has, contact her via Twitter (she's @ElementsOfJazz)!

So, folks, we have 21 days left. My hope is that we can get to 100 backers. Thanks so much for your help so far! http://kck.st/gEGCXQ

Gratefully,
